Charlottesville Turkey Trot 5k

The Charlottesville Turkey Trot 5K begins Thanksgiving morning next to Albemarle High School. Participants gather for a local 5K before their holiday meal. This community fun run offers both live and virtual participation, allowing individuals to run the neighborhood course or complete the distance independently. The in-person route follows roads around Lambs Road and Ivy Ridge Road, featuring flat sections, gentle rolling hills, and a moderate amount of climbing. Runners begin on the front of Albemarle High School and conclude on the school track. Parking is available across Albemarle High School, Journey Middle School, and Greer Elementary. The race supports the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank and Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry, which is located directly on the route and distributes food locally through the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank network.
