The Kennedy Kids Foundation 5K is an annual morning run at Barry University in Miami Shores, the neighborhood where Kennedy Bailey grew up. Presented by Amerant Bank, it is a 5K open to all ages, abilities, and family groups, with a virtual option for those unable to attend in person. The race uses real-time chip timing, awards cash prizes to the top male and female finishers, and gives age-division medals for first, second, and third place.
The event was created by Sienna Alvarez-Coia, a childhood friend of Kennedy’s, as a run in Kennedy’s honor. Race morning includes packet pickup outside Farrell Hall on the Campus Mall, an early pre-race stretch, coffee from a partner, and a post-race party for participants. The Kennedy Kids Foundation uses the event to support its work around youth suicide prevention, mental health education, help-seeking behavior, and wider access to care.
