Love in Action Walk/Run

The Love in Action Walk/Run takes place on an October morning at Vista View Park in Davie, Florida. A distinctive feature for South Florida is the inclusion of hills on the in-person routes. The series includes a 1K Walk, a 5K Run/Walk, a 10K Run, and a Virtual Run/Walk, catering to families, casual walkers, and runners seeking either a shorter or a more challenging effort. Carmela's Heart Foundation organizes the event, with proceeds benefiting children facing extreme poverty, famine, and disease. The 5K and 10K races begin before the 1K Walk. An after-party with music and refreshments follows later in the morning. The 1K is designed for families; children aged 0-6 participate without charge. The virtual option allows participants to complete their distance wherever they choose. Although the event is in its early stages, with the 5K and 10K in their third year, it has established itself as a charity race in a region known for its flat terrain, offering a hilly park course for participants.
