Monster Mash

Monster Dash is a Halloween-themed 5K and kids' race in Manito Park on Spokane's South Hill. The 5K starts in the morning and uses chip timing, while the Kids' Fun Run follows with 1-mile, half-mile, and quarter-mile options. Costumes are encouraged, making the field part road race and part Halloween parade. The setup is built for families: adults can walk or run the whole Fun Run course beside their children, and kids receive candy goodie bags upon finishing. Many parents run the 5K first, then meet their kids for the shorter race. Bib and shirt pickup is at the Lower Manito Park Picnic Shelter, and all race proceeds go to Active4Youth, a local nonprofit that introduces children to sports and healthy activities.
