O wyścigu
The Music City Ruck March provides each participant with a bib honoring a fallen service member, setting a clear focus for the start. This free, military-style ruck march takes place in Nashville, Tennessee, welcoming active-duty military, veterans, Gold Star families, and civilians. Participants navigate a closed short-loop course for two hours, choosing to carry weight, join a relay, or walk in the honorary division without a pack. Most ruckers are required to carry a minimum of 25 pounds in a pack or weighted vest.
The course operates like a time-trial criterium: finish a lap, check in at the staging area, punch the team card, and continue or tag a teammate. The loop measures approximately one to two miles, with an alternative route available for those with difficulty on stairs or pushing a stroller. Operation Stand Down TN and Memories of Honor organize the event, with assistance from the Bob Woodruff Foundation. Food, dogs, spectators, commemorative shirts, and a tailgate atmosphere contribute to a day focused on the veteran community, rather than a typical road race.
