New Year's Eve 5K

The New Year’s Eve 5K begins and ends at Theater on the Lake, situated along Chicago’s lakefront with the city skyline visible throughout the course. Organized by the Chicago Sport & Social Club, this morning 5K takes place on New Year’s Eve, typically starting between 9am and 11:30am, allowing participants to complete their run before evening festivities. The course runs along the lakefront and attracts runners of various ages and abilities, including those aiming for a timed personal best and those participating for a celebratory year-end run. Registration provides official timing, a personalized bib, branded merchandise, a finisher medal, party favors, and one post-run beverage. Following the race, participants gather at Theater on the Lake for champagne, music, refreshments, sponsor gift bags, and photo opportunities.
