Oakland Tech 5km/1 mile Race/Run/Walk Fundraiser

The Oakland Tech 5km/1 mile Race/Run/Walk Fundraiser is an annual school-supported race held in Joaquin Miller Park, Oakland, at 3590 Sanborn Drive in Alameda County. Participants can select a 5K trail race or a 1 mile fun run/walk. The shorter option begins in the morning, with the 5K commencing shortly thereafter. This event generates funds for the Oakland Tech PTSA and student activities, specifically benefiting the Oakland Tech Cross Country team. The 5K offers a more competitive course along park trails beneath Joaquin Miller’s tall redwood trees. The 1 mile route is designed for casual runners, walkers, families, and supporters who wish to participate without intense competition. Funds from entries and deductible donations contribute to meet entry fees, training equipment, athlete nutrition, and travel expenses for away races. Bib pickup is available the day before the race and on race morning near the start area.
