Occoneechee State Park Annual Turkey Trot

The Occoneechee State Park Annual Turkey Trot is a park fundraiser featuring an officially timed and measured 5K and a Kids One Mile Run for children 13 and under. The 5K is open to all ages. The kids’ race offers medals for every participant, day-of packet pickup, swag bags, refreshments, and space for parents or strollers to accompany younger runners. The 5K includes a holiday-race atmosphere: leashed pets and costumes are permitted, and finishers can stay for a raffle featuring gift certificates and merchandise. Awards will be presented to the top three overall male and female 5K runners and the top finisher in each age group. The event also contributes funds and donations to the park, supporting an ADA-compliant fishing dock, a new 18-hole disc golf course, and local food-bank collections.
