The Palm Springs Pride 5K Run & Walk begins Greater Palm Springs Pride weekend with a 3.1-mile run and walk in Palm Springs, California. Palm Springs Front Runners & Walkers organizes it, and the field is limited to 1,200 participants, so registration may close before packet pickup. It is designed for a diverse group: competitive runners seeking overall awards, age-group contenders, walkers, families, and those wanting a Pride morning outdoors rather than a focus on race times.
The out-and-back course begins on West Chino Drive at Belardo Road and goes through Old Las Palmas, a neighborhood that started as a citrus grove and later attracted some of Hollywood’s most famous figures. Awards are presented to the top three overall male, female, and non-binary finishers, with age-group medals for male and female runners. Online registrants receive a T-shirt and commemorative medal while supplies last, and same-day registration is not available because of the participant limit. The race also generates significant funds: one recent event raised over $50,000, and since its inception, it has donated over $300,000 to local LGBTQ+ nonprofits, including organizations supporting community health, safe schools, students, and youth drop-in services.
