The Rock Canyon Half Marathon is a winter race in Pueblo, Colorado, beginning at the Pueblo City Park pavilion. The primary distance is 13.1 miles, with a 5K available for those preferring a shorter run. Hundreds of participants compete annually in this long-standing Pueblo tradition, held in a city known as Colorado’s “Second City” and “Steel City.”
The course descends from City Park to the Arkansas River trail, following the river on a varied surface of pavement, dirt road, and trail. Participants run west towards the Nature Center, passing open fields where deer are frequently spotted, before returning along the same trail. The route is noted for its speed, featuring aid stations with water and sports drinks, making it suitable for local runners aiming for a fast half marathon and individuals seeking a relaxed winter race along the river.
