RVA Mile (aka Regency Mile)

The RVA Mile, also known as the Regency Mile, is a one-mile road race held at Regency Square Mall in Henrico, Virginia. For 15 years, it has been Richmond’s largest timed youth road race. The program also features a 400-meter Express Run for children aged 5 and under. Adult participation is accommodated with a parent’s mile, an adult race, in-person and virtual options, and short start windows to maintain the day’s schedule. The course is closed and circles the mall, allowing runners to race without traffic. Starts are divided into heats based on age and gender, with each runner assigned a wave during registration, as timing and awards are dependent on racing in the correct group. An elite wave begins the event using an equalizer format, starting women before the remaining field. Following the races, the event transitions into a Fall Festival offering candy, games, and sponsor activities.
