[Un]leash the Fun is a 5K run and 2K walk held at Duncansville Memorial Park in Duncansville, Pennsylvania. The course begins in the park and extends through the borough. The run commences first in the morning, with the walk following soon after. The event is intentionally dog-friendly on the walking portion: participants are encouraged to bring their dogs, while runners are asked to leave their pets with someone else to cheer from the sidelines.
The event commemorates Mack, a dog who lived 14 years. His family cared for him through kidney disease, managing his condition with special diets, IV fluids, and the daily tasks associated with a sick pet. Mack’s personality influences the day more than a standard race theme. Organizers note his fondness for extra-sharp cheese, pup cups, sunbathing, shark toys, and howling along to the fire whistle. In his memory, the race features cheesy surprises and pup cups. All proceeds benefit Beau’s Dog Park. Participants receive a shirt, swag bag, timing-chip bib, refreshments, and a finisher medal. Additional medals are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in both the 5K and 2K.
