Tortoise Trot 5K and Trail Run

The Tortoise Trot takes place in Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, beginning and ending at the Visitor Center near Las Vegas. It includes a relaxed, untimed 5K-ish run/walk with a 300-person limit and a more challenging untimed 17K trail run limited to 50 runners. The 5K route combines road and trail along the Moenkopi loop. The 17K route crosses rugged desert paths and sections of the scenic drive, featuring a 3-hour time limit and no walking category. The courses are predominantly unpaved, offering expansive vistas of Red Rock Canyon. Dogs and jogging strollers are not permitted. Participants aged 5 to 11 must be accompanied by an adult. The event contributes to the preservation of public lands.
