Racine's Turkey Trot 5K begins at Festival Park on Thanksgiving morning with a 9:00 AM start and same-day registration. The course is a flat 5K along Racine's lakefront, designed for both recreational and competitive runners, accommodating those aiming for a fast time and those simply wanting to be active before their meal.
The route utilizes the Lake Michigan Pathway and passes Racine landmarks like North Beach and the River Walk, featuring no hills. Following the run, participants, their families, and friends are invited to Festival Hall for a complimentary Thanksgiving meal served from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The event benefits local charities, and runners can bring food donations via Racine County Bank. Practical amenities include indoor heated bathrooms, a welcome feature for a late November race in Wisconsin.
