Federation Ultra Trail Marathon 2026

Monarto Safari Park offers a unique start: "exclusive pre-dawn access to Monarto Safari Park" before public opening. Runners proceed past free-roaming African wildlife, including giraffes, rhinos, meerkats, bison, and chimpanzees, before the Federation Ultra Trail Marathon transitions to the Lavender Federation Trail. Now in its 7th year, the event emphasizes the route over spectacle. The longer courses utilize natural trail surfaces, "winding through the scenic Kinchina Conservation Park" on a "natural bush track with rolling hills and open woodland" before "descending toward the Murray River." All participants will pass beneath the iconic Murray Bridge, finishing at Sturt Reserve along the river. The Zoo Loop follows family-friendly paths around the Visitor Centre. Shorter loops attract beginners and families, while the longer distances are suited for experienced trail runners and ultra-distance athletes.
