Scenic Rim Ultra 2026

From Lilybrook Recreation Area on Beaudesert Boonah Road, the Scenic Rim Ultra heads straight into big country: four mountains, the Dugandan Range, and a loop around Wyaralong Dam. This is a hard trail event in the honest sense, built around "gnarly private trails rarely accessible to the public" and the kind of terrain that makes you manage effort from the first climb. The course mixes dirt roads, technical single track, and dense forest, then keeps asking for more with "relentless ridgeline climbs and punishing descents." Expect rolling farmlands, steep mountain ascents, technical downhill, and maybe local cattle sharing the track; the field ranges from fit newer trail runners to ultra runners chasing "gob-smacking scenery" and "serious bragging rights."
