Sobre esta prova
The SWE Albtal-Triathlon Ettlingen begins and ends at Buchtzigsee, a lake in Ettlingen near Karlsruhe, Baden-Wurttemberg. This short-distance triathlon follows the Olympic format, with individual athletes and relay teams competing over the same distances: 1.5 km swimming, 39.9 km cycling, and 9.8 km running. The race is organized by the triathlon section of SSV Ettlingen 1847 and sanctioned by the Baden-Wurttemberg Triathlon Association and the German Triathlon Union. Approximately 300 individual starters and 20 relay participants are anticipated, indicating a locally focused competition with a solid field rather than a large festival.
The transition area is located in the parking lot adjacent to Buchtzigsee, requiring approximately 300 meters for the first transition and 100 meters for the second. The race starts with a registered top group, followed by a rolling start for the remaining participants. Athletes have a 50-minute swim cutoff, bike-course cutoffs after two and three laps, and a total race limit of 4 hours 30 minutes. Aid stations are positioned once per 13 km bike lap, at least once per 5 km run lap, and again at the finish. Johanniter Karlsruhe and DLRG Ettlingen provide medical and water-safety support, with raceresult.de managing timing and publishing results online.
