Sobre esta prova
The Marxa Cicloturista Montsec-Montsec is a gran fondo-style cycling ride starting in Balaguer, Catalonia. Its main MM190 route spans approximately 190 km with around 3,300 m of elevation gain. Participants must be 18 or older. The long route is recognized by several cycling-tourism circuits, including CICLOPIRINEUS, the RFEC Gran Fondo circuit, the UCI Cycling for All-Road calendar, Ciclismo a Fondo’s circuit, and DONABIKE.
The course departs Balaguer, passing through Gerb, Vilanova de la Sal, Avellanes, Port d’Ager, Ager, and the Congost de Terradets. It then navigates climbs and villages such as Coll de Comiols, Vilanova de Meia, Collada d’Hostal Roig, La Baronia de Sant Oisme, Alt de Fontllonga, and Camarasa before returning to Balaguer. A strict mid-ride checkpoint is in place: riders reaching km 108.4 after 12:45 PM are rerouted to the medium course. This requires maintaining an average speed of 22.8 km/h on the long course up to that point.
