Sobre esta prova
Cross de la Plaine des Palmistes is a February cross-country race in La Plaine-des-Palmistes, Réunion, serving as the Réunion cross-country championship. Organized by the Club d’athlétisme de La Plaine des Palmistes and the Ligue Réunionnaise d’Athlétisme, it begins at 7:30 AM with over 1,200 participants anticipated in eight age categories, from masters down to benjamines.
The race uses a 1.9 km loop on a hilly trail within a recently planted park of endemic plants, finishing near the stadium. Participants complete multiple laps based on their category; the women’s Espoirs-Seniors-Masters event covers 6.45 km. The course is named Michel Bègue, a decision made with his family and the athletics league to honor the former CAPP president. The field includes young athletes and veteran racers, with previous results showing strong championship performances from Blandine L’Hirondel, Jean-Marie Cadet, Ruddy Barret, Viviane Fanchin, and Johny Aimart.
