The Ekiden Nevers Marathon by Nexson begins on the Nevers Magny-Cours Formula 1 circuit in Nièvre, placing runners where Formula 1 cars once started. This November race weekend features a full marathon, a half marathon, a six-person Ekiden relay, and a children's race with a shorter distance. The marathon is 42.195 km, the half marathon is 21.1 km, and both the Ekiden and marathon distances are officially measured and certified by the French athletics federation. The course starts within the motor-racing grounds, incorporating sections named the Nurburing chicane, the 180, and the Adelaide corner early on. Following the circuit, participants run towards the Loire River, passing the castles of the Dukes of Burgundy on a route the organizers describe as fast and appealing.
