Les Foulées du Patrimoine Saintes

Les Foulées du Patrimoine Saintes is an urban trail race held in Saintes, typically in September. The Abbaye aux Dames serves as the start and finish point. Participants can select a 10 km, 20 km, or a two-person 20 km relay, with legs of 7 km and 13 km. The event also features children’s races of 800 m, 1500 m, and 2300 m. The course winds through the old city, incorporating narrow streets, alleys, paths, stairs, and unique passages. It passes Saintes’ monuments and runs alongside the Gallo-Roman amphitheater. This route offers a sense of running through the city’s history rather than a typical road loop. SantoRun organizes the event, which includes families, and advance registration is required as there is no on-site sign-up.
