Sobre esta prova
The Marathon du Grésivaudan begins on the runway at the Versoud aerodrome, an uncommon start for a road marathon. This race is based in Le Versoud, within the Isère department of France’s Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. The primary event is a very flat marathon, which the organizers suggest might be the flattest in France.
Beyond the aerodrome, the course largely follows the right and left banks of the Isère river, featuring 6 or 7 aid stations contingent on weather conditions. The event also offers a 13 km trail for less experienced runners and a 21 km semi-marathon. These shorter races incorporate forest paths, open vistas, lakes, and ponds, providing a more off-road character compared to the marathon.
