Sobre esta prova
The Trail de l'Île d'Yeu presents a logistical challenge: participants must travel to a small island off Vendée before the race begins. This event takes place in June on the Île d'Yeu, located in the Bay of Biscay. Runners can choose from trail distances of 15 km, 23 km, and 45 km. It is a nature-trail event, utilizing the island's paths for a condensed tour of the location over one morning, rather than a road race.
The 45 km race starts first, followed by the 23 km, relay, and 15 km fields. Each start is preceded by a briefing at the port. Relay participants receive a shuttle service to and from the handover point. Showers and restrooms are available at the finish area for all runners. The island's location influences administration: ferry tickets are assigned to individuals, ID is required for bib collection, and bibs are non-transferable. Participants must bring their own cups or purchase one at bib pickup, as no cups are provided before or during the race. The event's slogan, "T'as de beaux Yeu tu sais !", is a local reference playing on the island's name.
