DANDO ROUND TRIP40 is a trail running race held in June at Asahi Kogen Genki-Mura in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture. Participants can select a 20 km or 40 km course. The 40 km race involves approximately 1,900 m of elevation gain, while the 20 km race has about 1,000 m. This event has a limit of 200 participants, making it a smaller trail race. Trail Fest Running Company organizes the race, with support from Aichi Prefecture, Toyota City, and Shitara Town.
The course follows an out-and-back route from Asahi Kogen Genki-Mura to Dan-do Lake and returns, utilizing forest roads and trails on the Dan-do Plateau. The 40 km race begins before the 20 km race. Cutoff times are eight hours for the 40 km distance and five hours for the 20 km. Runners must be 18 years or older, capable of finishing within the time limits, and must carry trail shoes, a phone, at least one liter of water, food, a whistle, first-aid supplies, and health insurance identification. Poles are permitted. While the event is open to all levels, the significant climbing and required equipment offer a genuine mountain running experience.
