Secondary School Tough Guy and Gal Challenge: Hamilton 2026

Ngaruawahia Christian Youth Camp provides the Secondary School Tough Guy and Gal Challenge with its natural terrain: grass, bush, water, and enough mud that clean shoes are impossible. This event pits secondary school students against each other, fostering a good-natured team rivalry as classmates encourage each other through the difficult sections. The course presents young runners with various obstacles: water trails, a spider web net climb, a mud slide, a barbed wire crawl, and a tricky wire rope bridge. Participants will navigate native bush trails, run through paddocks, and cross a swamp with more mud. The finish line feels less like a conventional race and more like surviving a chaotic recess. A benefit for older students is the opportunity to earn NCEA Level 2 and Level 3 credits while getting thoroughly muddy.
