Sobre esta prova
PBT Góry 400 is a 400 km bike ultramarathon from MOSiR Sanok to Żywiec, run in early July as part of the Polish Bike Tour. It is the shortest event in that series, but it still gives riders four days and about 9,000 metres of climbing, so it requires strong legs and solid bike-handling skills rather than just endurance. Riders can choose a Gravel/MTB route, with roughly 65% asphalt and 35% gravel or rougher terrain, or a road route that is almost entirely asphalt with a small amount of fine gravel.
The route heads south from Sanok into Magurski National Park, where the climbing and fast descending begin early. From there it moves through the Beskid Niski, Sądecki, Wyspowy, and Żywiecki ranges, passing places such as Krynica, Piwniczna, and Szczawnica before entering Pieniny National Park. Later sections follow the shore of Czorsztyńskie Lake, cross Podhale, reach Zakopane at the foot of the Tatras, then point riders toward Babia Góra and the Pilsko massif before the finish in Żywiec.
