The race contributes to the WTAC Fall Race Series standings, with a discount available for participants registering for multiple series races.

The Newport Winter 10K is a cold-season 10k held in Newport, Rhode Island. Both the start and finish are located at Brenton Point State Park. Runners will follow Ocean Drive, with the race course situated along the exposed coastline instead of a downtown loop or neighborhood route. The route proceeds clockwise around Ocean Drive from Brenton Point, keeping runners near Newport’s shore for most of the run. This is the event's second annual race, and finishers are awarded a medal and a winter beanie.
