The Fort Collins Running Summit is a Saturday afternoon running event at Colorado State University’s Translational Medicine Institute in Fort Collins, held alongside the Choice City Running Festival. This is the kick-off edition for FCRC, and it is more of a runner-focused summit than a road race: a ticketed half-day gathering with lunch, talks, and practical running knowledge from local and national voices.
The wider festival provides a race-day setting, with the Human Race 5K, 10K, and half marathon based at Civic Center Park, plus the Jane Welzel Mountain Avenue Mile added to the program. The Human Race has a long local history, and the Mountain Avenue Mile brings its own established tradition. Summit speakers include Kara Goucher, Dr. Ray Browning, Brittany Charboneau, and Craig Depperschmidt, covering Olympic-level racing, shoe science, pro running, comedy, and injury treatment for everyday runners.
