Sobre esta prova
The Gettysburg Festival of Races takes place on a Sunday weekend just outside the Gettysburg battlefield in Pennsylvania. It offers three race options: the North-South Marathon, the Blue-Gray Half Marathon, and the 2L Race Services 5K. The marathon and half marathon begin simultaneously at 8:00 AM, with the 5K starting at 8:15 AM. Saturday's activities include packet pick-up, a health and fitness expo featuring local vendors, and a pasta dinner, allowing participants to extend their weekend beyond just race day.
The marathon and half marathon courses traverse wooded back roads, fields, and farms before crossing the Mason-Dixon line into Maryland and returning to Pennsylvania. The race incorporates a Civil War theme through its names and location, promoted as an opportunity to run in the historic North-South battleground. Awards are presented distinctly for the 5K, half marathon, and marathon. Age group awards extend to 70+ in the longer races. All participants receive a finisher shirt and a goodie bag. Race-day registration is available if capacity allows.
