Hope for the Holiday Half Marathon and 5k in Memory of Garrett Yeager 2026

The Hope for the Holiday Half Marathon and 5K is a memorial race held in Batesville, Arkansas, and it is the city’s only half marathon. The event honors Garrett Yeager, remembered by the organizers as a friend, son, and father. This is the race's eighth edition. Runners can choose the in-person half marathon, in-person 5K, or virtual versions of both races. All proceeds go in Garrett’s memory to Special Olympics of Independence County and New Hope Refuge. Both distances start in the Eagle Mountain neighborhood, where the 5K also finishes. Half marathon runners continue to Lyon College, pick up a three-quarter-mile trail section on campus, then head onto country roads before returning by the main highway toward Eagle Mountain. Every participant receives a finisher medal and a race hoodie, giving the day a personal, community-race feel.
