The Huntersville Sprint Triathlon begins with a pool swim at Huntersville Family Fitness and Aquatics on Verhoeff Drive in Huntersville, North Carolina. This sprint triathlon is for individuals and relay teams aged 13 and older. Swimmers are seeded by their submitted 100-yard pace and begin every 10 seconds. The swim takes place in the facility’s 50-meter pool, with athletes moving through the lanes. Swim caps are provided. The bike course is a single 20K loop on mostly two-lane roads featuring moderate hills and light race-morning traffic. The run is a 5K out-and-back on roads. A youth division for ages 7 to 15 includes a shorter pool swim and flatter bike and run segments.
