LABOR DAY 5-MILE McAVOY RACE 2026

The Robert C. McAvoy Labor Day 5-Mile Race is a five-mile road race in Long Beach, New York, held on Labor Day morning by the City of Long Beach. It begins and ends at Laurelton Boulevard near the boardwalk, featuring a measured, flat course suitable for consistent pacing and quick times. Registration and number pickup are available early on race morning; all participants receive a T-shirt at pickup. The route follows the Long Beach boardwalk area, avoiding a complex point-to-point course. The participants include overall contenders, Long Beach residents competing for local awards, wheelchair athletes, age-group runners from 14-and-under to 80-plus, and casual runners seeking a short holiday race. Awards are presented to the top male and female finishers overall, the top Long Beach male and female finishers, the wheelchair division winner, and the first four men and women in each age group. Baby strollers are prohibited on the course, and chip timing is used for official results.
