Sobre esta prova
The Leaky Hourglass Ultra is a Last Man Standing race held in Half Way, Missouri, approximately 20 miles north of Springfield. All participants complete the same 4.167-mile out-and-back loop. The time limit for each lap decreases progressively; the initial lap must be finished within 60 minutes, with the cutoff reducing by one minute for each subsequent lap until only a single runner can meet the deadline.
The course follows a chip-and-seal rural highway with rolling hills, offering about 250 feet of elevation gain per lap. Traffic remains open, requiring runners to contend with vehicles. After dark, a headlamp and a flasher are mandatory. Aid is straightforward and functional: a staffed station at the start/finish provides Tailwind, water, chips, pickles, candy bars, Scooby snacks, and both hot and cold food options. An unmanned station at the turnaround point offers Tailwind, water, and pre-packaged snacks. Primitive camping is available on-site before the race, bib transfers are permitted, and Mile 90 Photography offers complimentary race photos.
