Sobre esta prova
National Chocolate Day: Run for Chocolates San Diego is a small-group running event at Liberty Station, offering 5K, 10K, and half-marathon distances, plus a Family 1 Mile Fun Run. It is designed for runners and walkers, not just racers, and accommodates all paces and ages. A guardian must accompany anyone under 18. The format is intentionally low-pressure: timing chips are not used, and timing is optional. Participants may track their own times using apps like Strava, RunKeeper, or Nike Run, or request assistance from coordinators.
The course map is emailed prior to the race, and race bibs are distributed on race day, eliminating separate packet pickup. Waves have participant limits and may close when full, with a waitlist and virtual run option available if in-person spots are exhausted. The chocolate theme is present at the finish line, where runners receive chocolate, a medal, a finisher towel or giveaway, online results, and a completion certificate. Shirts are mailed to U.S. addresses. An eco-registration option is available for 5K, 10K, and half-marathon runners who prefer not to receive a shirt. Virtual runners can submit results to earn a medal. The event also connects with local running clubs and charitable initiatives, including optional fundraising and a donation based on miles logged post-race.
