Orlando Josiah Memorial 5k

The Orlando Josiah Memorial 5k is an annual 5k walk and run held at Thorne Street Park in Horseheads, New York. It honors Orlando Josiah Vargas, who passed away before his sixth birthday. The race morning features a main 5k followed by an untimed Kids Fun Run. The event is centered on Orlando’s passion for sports and the happiness he brought to his friends. Funds raised provide a scholarship in his name for a Horseheads School District graduate. Awards are given to both adults and younger runners, with cash prizes for the top male and female finishers in adult and youth divisions, and medals for the first 175 participants.
