ORRRC Possum Creek 5k Trail Race 2026

The ORRRC Possum Creek 5K Trail Race is a low-key evening 5K held at Possum Creek Metropark in Dayton, Ohio. The race begins and ends at Sycamore Shelter, located on Frytown Road. It commences at 7 p.m. and serves as a suitable introduction to trail running. The course consists of dirt, gravel, meadow, and grass sections, featuring minimal elevation gain, no water crossings, and not requiring specialized trail footwear. The Ohio River Road Runners Club organizes this event as one of its smaller, volunteer-managed races. ORRRC members and children 14 and under participate without charge. Other participants are subject to a modest entry fee. While shirts and finisher medals are not provided, runners receive chip timing, post-race refreshments, and occasionally small awards for age groups. Parking is limited near the shelter, making carpooling advisable. The alternative lot at the pond necessitates an additional half-mile walk to the starting point.
