Sobre esta prova
The Sheetz-to-Sheetz Trail Run is a 14-mile, untimed point-to-point run in King George, Virginia. The premise is literal: runners start at one Sheetz and finish at another. This spring off-road event covers about 22.5 kilometers and raises money for local children, charities, and nearby causes. Registration opens at midnight on Black Friday and typically sells out by dawn, indicating the strong following this unique trail race has cultivated.
Most of the route uses the Dahlgren Railroad Heritage Trail, passing farmland and forest. Shuttle buses transport runners from the finish area in Dahlgren to the start. Aid stations embrace the theme with pie, s'mores, Peeps, soft pretzels, and other snacks, deviating from standard fare. Finishers receive an insulated Sheetz travel mug instead of a medal, along with Sheetz food and drink, a towel, a reusable cup, doughnuts, snacks, and a drawstring bag. RaceCheck athlete reviews have awarded it a GOLD Badge for four consecutive years and ranked it the country's top off-road race. Past participants describe it as a favorite, even in challenging weather.
