Sunset Marathon MIAMI 2026

The Miami Marathon begins before sunrise on Biscayne Boulevard near Miami-Dade Arena, sending runners toward Miami Beach as the city awakens. This road marathon in Miami, Florida, typically occurs on the last Sunday in January or the first Sunday in February. It features the full 42.195 km distance, a half marathon, and wheelchair divisions for both races. The current iteration of the race has been held since 2003, is produced by Life Time Fitness, and marathon finishers may use qualifying times for Boston. The course proceeds east on the MacArthur Causeway, passing the cruise ships at the Port of Miami, reaching South Beach, then runs north on Ocean Drive before returning west via the Venetian Causeway. The participants include marathoners, half-marathoners, wheelchair athletes, charity runners, and a large crowd that can number in the tens of thousands when entries sell out. Celebrities or local politicians frequently start the runners, with past starters including Frank Shorter and Ryan Hall. Miami previously hosted a marathon as part of the Orange Bowl Marathon, which originated with the King Orange Jamboree. That event once started and finished inside the Orange Bowl stadium, later relocated to Crandon Park, and ultimately ceased due to financial difficulties.
