Turkey Vulture Trot 5k & 1-Mile Fun Run 2026

The Turkey Vulture Trot is a Thanksgiving running event held at Crystal Mountain in Thompsonville, Michigan, beginning at 12500 Crystal Mountain Drive. Participants can choose between a 5K race covering 5 kilometers or a 1-Mile Fun Run, approximately 1.6 kilometers. The event attracts participants primarily from Michigan, with some traveling from states including Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Ohio, New York, Oregon, and Texas. Approximately 237 individuals participated, with about 162 in the 5K and around 75 in the fun run. Proceeds benefit the North Sky Raptor Sanctuary in Grand Traverse County, directly linking the bird-themed race name to its supported cause.
