Frankston foreshore defines this bayside running event, with the start and finish near Frankston Pier. The field includes serious athletes and families enjoying a weekend out. The Frankston Running Festival presented by The Athlete's Foot offers a typical coastal-race atmosphere: spectators nearby, a dedicated race for children, and sufficient course management to allow participants to focus on their run. The route proceeds along the Nepean Highway towards Eel Race Road, Carrum, before returning. This course design allows runners to anticipate the return journey. Features include timed bibs, frequent aid stations, staged northbound lane closures, and a finisher's medal for all participants. Awards are also presented to the top three male and female finishers in each age category for each distance.
