Cyclotour du Léman
Cyclotour du Léman is a road cycling event based in Lausanne, offering routes of 176 km, 112 km, or 64 km around Lake Geneva and its French and Swiss shores. The 176 km route starts and finishes in Lausanne, completing a full lap of the lake with approximately 890 meters of elevation gain. The shorter routes maintain the cross-border aspect: the 112 km option goes from Evian to Lausanne with about 640 meters of climbing, and the 64 km route from Lausanne to Evian features around 250 meters of climbing and includes a return boat trip. The course provides a comprehensive tour of the lake, distinct from a closed circuit. The longest distance circumnavigates the water, passing through both countries. The 64 km route crosses the Lavaux wine terraces before arriving in Evian. Participants also ride near a prominent European castle, likely Chillon on the Swiss shore. The event attracts a diverse cycling community, with recent editions seeing over 4,000 participants, and it also features a Kid’s Race. The organizing association collaborates with World Bicycle Relief, adding a charitable component to the day's sportive activities.
