The Sommerabendlauf "Rund um den Sorpesee" circles the main basin of the Sorpesee in Sundern-Amecke. The long race covers 15.6 km on a loop starting and ending at the Sorpebrücke. This summer-evening Volkslauf, organized by SuS GW Amecke 1922 e. V., features electronic timing and a DLV-measured course, with a participant limit of 400.
In addition to the main run, a 6.4 km out-and-back race and a walking/Nordic walking option are offered. The 15.6 km route is flat, fully paved, with minimal climbing (around 20 meters) and no road crossings; approximately half the course is shaded. The walking route, however, includes forest paths and 147 meters of elevation gain. All participants share the same finish area, with three aid stations on course and one at the finish. Finishers receive certificates and a souvenir, with certificates also available online. Showers are provided at the nearby campsite.
