Lautrer Lebenslauf is a charity run held at the Schulzentrum Süd athletics facility in Kaiserslautern. It begins with a children’s run in the morning, followed by the main race. The event supports the “Mama/Papa hat Krebs” association of the Rhineland-Palatinate Cancer Society, with proceeds funding free assistance for children who have a parent or sibling with cancer. Participants can choose from a flat 1 km children’s run, or 5 km and 10 km forest routes suitable for runners, walkers, and Nordic walkers. Although sanctioned by the German Athletics Association, organizers intentionally maintain a non-competitive atmosphere; times are recorded on certificates, but there are no awards for speed.
The children’s route is designed without significant inclines. The 5 km forest loop includes approximately 100 meters of elevation gain, and the 10 km loop rises about 225 meters. Hydration stations are available on the 5 km and 10 km courses, and the event proceeds regardless of weather. The day also features a community gathering atmosphere with food, drinks, snacks, coffee, cake, a raffle, a bouncy castle, music by DJ duo IZZOBEATS, and a stem-cell donor typing drive in cooperation with the Stefan-Morsch-Stiftung. Past charity raffle prizes have included a trip to Berlin for two, VIP tickets for FCK, and shopping vouchers, extending the fundraising efforts beyond the race itself.
