Tag des Laufens is a Germany-wide running day held on the first Wednesday in June. Rather than one fixed race with a single start line, it encourages runners nationwide to participate under the slogan “Gemeinsam mehr bewegen” — moving more together. German Road Races, the German Athletics Association, and laufen.de initiated it, with DATEV providing support.
There is no single course; individuals can run alone, gather with a group, or attend evening events in German cities. The day welcomes all types of runners, from novices and recreational athletes to elite competitors. German record holder Amanal Petros has even run with amateurs in Nuremberg. A charitable aspect is central to the event, with participant donations supporting children's health and activity.
