Almindingsløbet 2026

Almindingsløbet is a long-running September race held in the middle of Almindingen on Bornholm, beginning west of Christianshøjkroen. Viking Atletik organizes this family-friendly forest event, offering three distances: 2.6 km, 6 km, and 8 km. The shortest distance is suitable for children, casual runners, and walkers; the 6 km route is for walkers and recreational runners; the 8 km route is for those seeking the longest challenge. All distances share the same start and finish point, with staggered starts and routes indicated by signs. The course features hilly forest trails with some asphalt sections, giving it the feel of a woodland excursion rather than a road race. Walkers, Nordic walkers, club runners, families, and local running enthusiasts are all welcome. Parents may accompany children who are hesitant. Participants receive chip timing, fruit, water, online diplomas, complimentary photo downloads, and entry into prize drawings.
