World Athletics Road Running Championships Copenhagen

The World Athletics Road Running Championships are scheduled for September in Copenhagen, Denmark, featuring elite road racing within the city. The event includes three race distances: the One Mile, the 5K, and the Half Marathon. Elite athletes will compete for world championship titles, and approximately 65,000 recreational runners will have the opportunity to compete on the same city courses. The event combines a championship competition with a mass participation race. The world's top road runners will participate alongside club runners, recreational runners, and international guests. Entry for the Half Marathon is determined by lottery, ensuring a fair chance for all applicants, while the 5K and One Mile races are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Danish Athletics, Wonderful Copenhagen, Sport Event Denmark, Copenhagen Municipality, and Sparta Athletics & Running are organizing the event for World Athletics, aiming to establish it as Denmark's largest participatory sports event.
