The Cursa de la Dona de Balaguer is a 5-kilometer city race in Balaguer, Lleida. It starts at Plaça del Mercadal at 11:00 AM. This event is part of the local Week Against Gender Violence, held in honor of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. The race welcomes participants of all paces, including runners, joggers, walkers, and marchers, all following the same urban route.
The course remains within Balaguer's streets, with aid stations at the halfway point and the finish line. This is the thirteenth edition of the race, which has previously attracted about 600 participants, with an entry limit of 800 and a low fee for accessibility. Men and children have participated as companions, and previous years featured workshops, stretching sessions, and a flashmob focused on equality and the fight against gender-based violence. The race conveys a clear message: respect, equality, solidarity with women, and public support for victims of male violence.
