The Trail del Genal is a mountain running series held in Andalusia’s Genal Valley, within the Serranía de Ronda. Its primary event, the Ultra Trail Gran Vuelta del Genal, covers 129 km with 6,300 meters of elevation gain and a 31-hour cutoff. This ultramarathon, organized by Club Deportivo Puraventura Genal, attracts over 1,200 participants annually, with some traveling from outside Spain.
The extended course connects fifteen of the valley's white villages: Algatocín, Alpandeire, Atajate, Benadalid, Benalauría, Benarrabá, Cartajima, Faraján, Gaucín, Genalguacil, Igualeja, Jubrique, Júzcar, Parauta, and Pujerra. The series also features the 55 km Trail Genal, originating in Júzcar, and the 167 km 100 Millas Valle del Genal, based in Estepona. All finishers are awarded medals, and participants receive a commemorative technical shirt. Trophies are presented to the top three male and female finishers in each category.
