The 100 Km de la Somme et Marathon d'Amiens Métropole is a road-running series held in Amiens, in the Somme department of Hauts-de-France, in early October. The program includes three distances: a 100 km ultramarathon, a marathon, and a half marathon. The half marathon is open to solo runners or three-person relay teams. The event began in 1979, and the 100 km race holds a strong reputation in France because of its distance, history, and position on the long-distance calendar.
All three routes follow the Somme river, traveling between Amiens, the surrounding countryside, and Picardy villages. The marathon turns around at Bourdon, while the 100 km continues west to Pont-Rémy. Runners pass locations such as Picquigny, Breilly, Condé-Folie, and Longpré-les-Corps-Saints. The courses combine urban sections with greenways, paths, riverside stretches, and open natural areas, creating a sense of a long journey through the Somme valley rather than repeated laps.
