The Trail d'Ecouves - 8 km is a short forest trail race held in Ecouves, entirely on wooded terrain. It is suitable for those new to trail running, yet offers enough variation in pace and ground for experienced runners to compete seriously.
The course combines flat forest paths, undulating sections, ascents, descents, and river crossings, with obstacles like leaves and stones requiring runner attention. Approximately 60% of the route consists of wide forest tracks allowing for speed, while the remaining 40% follows singletrack trails that are not overly technical. The 8 km race shares its initial section with the 16 km event up to the fourth kilometre. The more challenging segments are located in the first two and last two kilometres. One participant described it as a genuine small trail, the type that encourages repeat participation.
